College Football 26

cfb26

Opinions are mixed on if Coach Chambers and the BGSU Falcons’ utter domination of the national college football landscape is good for the sport, but it's undeniable that he’s got that shit on. I’m talking about a true hypebeast with the teamkit Arc’teryx jacket and custom Japanese selvedge denim.

Fashionista settings aside, CFB 26 has a lot going for it. For another year, this series ended up being a console exclusive, prompting me to go down the rabbit hole of low-balling eBay listings for an Xbox Series S just to play it. And by god, what an amazing thing to have done. I mean, the Series S is a really lovely piece of technology. Yes, it lacks the disc drive that a physical media junkie such as myself would normally call a dealbreaker, but it’s surprisingly compact, and, AND it led me to buying the 8bitdo Ultimate 3-Way controller with hall effect sticks as well as the Hyperkin Duke; two monumentally good controllers at their price point. Sturdy in the hands with a heft that makes you naturally cradle them, giving you a sense that you are handling a serious piece of hardware that respects you as an adult, rather than being sold a cheap, plastic toy which creaks in your Tom Brady-like, quarterbackly 9” hands.

In conclusion, CFB 26 is the best football game since Madden 08.
